Sophie Teboul, piano
Sophie Teboul began playing piano at the Nice Conservatory. When she was 14 she joined the Paris Conservatory in Jacques Rouvier's piano classes and Alain Meunier and Christian Ivaldi's chamber music classes where she won three first prizes and earned a superior music study diploma.
She continued perfecting her skills there and worked with Dimitri Bashkirov, Léon Fleischer, Christian Zacharias, Georgy Sebok and Maria Curcio. She won the Radio France Competition at 14 and the international Vercelli and Alexandro Casagrande piano competitions in Terni.
She regularly performs as a soloist conducted by Hans Graf, Jean Jacques Kantorow, Klaus Weise, Philippe Bender, in Europe and Japan, is invited to the biggest festivals in Europe and Asia (Hong Kong, Beijing, Wuhan, Tokyo, Kyoto), the USA (New York, San Francisco) and performs chamber music with Renaud Capuçon, Laurent Korcia, Marielle Nordmann, Patrice Fontanarosa and Dominique de Williencourt
She teaches at the Bordeaux Conservatory and several overseas academies and has recorded several albums including the latest exploring Klezmer and Tango music with Juan-Jose Mosalini and the Meshouge Klezmer Band.
