Occitania Chamber Orchestra: Bach / Haendel evening

The Occitania Chamber Orchestra, a versatile group of musicians who like to revive classics from the repertoire through communication and listening to each other, brings us an evening devoted to baroque composers: Bach and Handel.

These two all-round musical geniuses from the 18th century played a major role in establishing new aesthetic standards and opening the doors to the forms we know today. The orchestra as we know it didn't exist back then and you would only bring together the musicians you needed to perform the music in question.

Which is exactly what the members of the Occitania Chamber Orchestra do. This evening they're joined by a piano and organ to perform a few gems from their repertoire: two Suites by Bach, his ineffable Concerto in F Minor for piano and organ concertos by Handel, real gems from the repertoire.

Program

JS. BACH: Suite for Orchestra No. 1 in C major BWV 1066
JS. BACH: Concerto for piano and strings in F minor BWV1056
G F. HAENDEL: Concerto for Trumpet, Organ and Orchestra No. 13 in F major HBWV 295
G F. HAENDEL: Concerto for organ and orchestra in B flat major op.7 HBWV 306
G F. HAENDEL: Concerto for Organ and Orchestra in D minor op.7 HBWV 309
JS. BACH: Suite for Orchestra No. 4 in D major BWV 1069
