Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia: Bloch / Liszt / Nielsen Evening

Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia
Conductor & piano : Frank Braley
piano and conductor : Nathanaël Gouin

The Royal Wallonia Chamber Orchestra's second concert sees its musical director take on two roles: pianist and conductor! He's also going to ask his young colleague Nathanaël Gouin to do the same as they're sharing the stage that night.

A flamboyant and incredibly romantic schedule with two breathtaking pieces by Franz Liszt: Malédiction, a sort of piano concerto that doesn't dare say what it is but has a title that grabs your heart, and the incredible Rhapsodie Espagnole, a new version for piano and string orchestra by the great Bulgarian pianist, teacher and composer Mikhail Petukhov. Next to dazzling Liszt, the soft colours of Carl Nielsen's Suite for String Orchestra, a Danish composer to revisit immediately and a Concerto Grosso by Bloch are no less stunning.

A voyage of discovery that you absolutely can't miss!

Program

E. BLOCH: Concerto Grosso n ° 1 for piano and strings
F. LISZT: "Malédiction" for piano and strings
C. NIELSEN: Suite for strings op.1
F. LISZT: Spanish Rhapsody transcribed for piano and strings (orchestration M. Petukhov)
