Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia: Schubert / Beintus / Legrand / Rota / Morricone Evening

Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia
Conductor & violin : Jean François Chamberlan
Conductor & piano : Frank Braley
Trumpet : Romain Leleu

The Royal Wallonia Chamber Orchestra's third and final concert at the Colmar Music and Culture Festival takes us on an all-encompassing voyage opening up its repertoire to the widest variety of composers from all backgrounds and periods.

Starting with Schubert's famous Death and the Maiden Quartet, rewritten for a string orchestra by Jean-Pascal Beintus, and the latter's own Concerto for trumpet, piano and strings to film scores that any cinema lover will recognise from Charlie Chaplin and masterpieces by Michel Legrand, Nino Rota or Ennio Morricone. Join us on a fantastic journey to the far reaches of music.

The young trumpet prodigy Romain Leleu will be performing alongside Jean-François Chamberlan and Frank Braley who will be conducting and on piano.

Program

F. SCHUBERT: The Girl and the Death, version for string orchestra
JP. BEINTUS: double concerto for piano trumpet and strings
Legrand, Chaplin, Rota, Morricone etc
